Future Feet

image by: Julie Rrap, artist exploring the female body
The future of the foot is questionable for male vs female. Females have long worn extensions on their foot to enhance height and give them a feeling of importance. Would females of the future become so obsessed with this idea that they changed their DNA to grow a bone from their heel to represent the same idea?
a permanent height.

From scientist Ben, who is a regular in DLF lectures, the first knowledge Capital Chronicle learnt from him was about the idea that when Kina shell touches human bone, the DNA starts to replicate the human bone properties and starts to translate and transform itself into bone. This idea fits really well into the human heel formation. The structure of the high heel would be built similar to traditonal casting methods. The high heel would elevate the and support the foot while inside the heels frame a Kina shell structure was inserted into the heel of the foot with structural support the bone would grow on the base of the foot and as the process transformation is complete the outside heel would be removed and the bone would be the persons permanent heel.

Shoe by Alexander McQueen designed with a season of fashion clothing styled like artist H.R.Gieger was a hit in the fashion industry even though so controversial. To design a "future Fashion" product for a big named company such as McQueen the idea would influence the turn in fashion from just representing alien like structures to actually growing the product on the users foot using their DNA.

Experiments: Creation of a model of a shoe where the leather is grown on the skin and shed like a cocoon to which a fashion product is created. Would you grow your own leather?
What about feathers and furr. Would the second skin like structure grow feathers to hide the toes and keep the foot waterproof. Killing animals for their skin would no longer be an issue. The user themselves grow their own leather to make their own clothing.
Fashion icons such as Lady Gaga is yes overly dramatic but does create a following. She has stepped into a different side of fashion promotion that is extremely futuristic and tests the waters. She is a huge fan of Alexander McQueen and has made his futuristic footwear very popular by promoting them in her pop music video clips
